WHAT WENT INTO BUILDING THIS 1977 CHEVY CHEYENNE?

April 20, 2018

Ken McAvoy’s 1977 Chevy Cheyenne named Elwood sat parked under a cover in his garage for many year’s while family took first priority. In 2013 he decided it was time to put some TLC back into Elwood. He and his nephew started working on the 77 while his daughter was away at college. Slowly this became one of the most popular builds in the Squarebody truck enthusiast world. Once American Racing got word of the project we knew we wanted to be involved with our new VF526. This wheel design draws inspiration from a popular 70’s era GM hub cap but is updated with styling cues from wheels like our Salt Flat Special. In March 2018 Ken debuted Elwood at the Lone Star Throwdown in Conroe Texas winning a Top 100 award.
