American Racing Finishes Strong at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona

January 31, 2024

Our all-new Forged AR724 wheel was fully displayed on the Multimatic Motorsport and Proton Competitions GTD PRO and GTD class Mustang GT3 vehicles.

At American Racing, our legacy in racing and automotive culture is deeply rooted in over 60 years of innovation and success, and this year is no different. We take pride in having been a significant part of the 2024 Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona, outfitting three all-new Ford Mustang GT3 racecars with our exclusive AR724 forged wheels.

UNOFFICIAL FORD RESULTS:

  • No. 64 (Ford Multimatic Motorsports) – H. Tincknell / M. Rockenfeller / C. Mies
    GTD PRO Finishing Position: 6th
  • No. 65 (Ford Multimatic Motorsports) – D. Müller / J. Hand / F. Vervisch
    GTD PRO Position: 9th
  • No. 55 (Proton Competition) – D. Olsen / R. Hardwick / C. Lewis / G. Levorato
    GTD Position: 20th

The 2024 Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona saw the #64 and #65 Mustangs from Multimatic Motorsports and the #55 Mustang from Proton Competition, all equipped with our AR724 wheels, demonstrate nerves of steel and competitive spirit in the GTD PRO and GTD classes. These results showcase the fiercely competitive nature of both teams in endurance racing and set a standard for American Racing's successes in competitive motorsports. Although the Mustangs didn’t podium, they had a strong showing at their Rolex 24 debut: leading laps and gaining knowledge during a grueling 24-hour race that will prove invaluable as the race season progresses.

Our partnership with these teams and the American Racing Forged AR724 wheel integration into the Ford Mustang GT3 race program is a testament to our cutting-edge technology and performance. The AR724, explicitly designed for the rigors of motorsports, is a culmination of experience from our expert engineers and talented design team.

The American Racing AR724 features a forged 1-piece monoblock construction made from 6061-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum. The wheel was designed in conjunction with Ford Performance to create a well-balanced race wheel that reflects the authenticity of the Mustang heritage while delivering uncompromising performance. To provide adequate traction and tailored fitment, the AR724 is built in a staggered setup, including 18x12.5" front and 18x13" rear wheels. The design team finalized the AR724's racing aesthetic in a bespoke Gunmetal finish exclusive to the GT3 cars.

At American Racing, our motorsport division embodies our racing heritage and forward-looking vision. This heritage positions us uniquely to influence the future of motorsports, driven by innovation, performance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Our involvement in high-profile races like the Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey ahead in the racing world.
