Wheel Pros' brand, American Racing, has announced its technical partnership with Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsports as the official wheel provider for the new Ford Mustang GT3 race car. American Racing has developed an all-new, forged wheel explicitly homologated for the Mustang GT3 vehicle in preparation for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the World Endurance Championship and other premier GT race series around the world. This effort marks American Racing's first venture into the highest level of global GT competition and a historic new chapter for Ford Performance.
Based on the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse performance street vehicle, the Mustang GT3 boasts a bold, exciting new race livery and Ford Performance logo from renowned motorsports designer Troy Lee. The race car features a bespoke short-long arm suspension, rear-mounted transaxle gearbox, carbon fiber body panels, extensive aero modifications and American Racing AR724 forged wheels.
The American Racing AR724 features a forged 1-piece monoblock construction made from 6061-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum. The wheel was designed in conjunction with Ford Performance to create a well-balanced race wheel that reflects the authenticity of the Mustang heritage while delivering uncompromising performance. To provide adequate traction and tailored fitment, the AR724 is built in a staggered setup, including 18x12.5" front and 18x13" rear wheels. The design team finalized the AR724's racing aesthetic in a bespoke Gunmetal finish exclusive to the GT3 car.
