The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is best known for some of the world's most dynamic automotive events. Founded by enthusiasts, Good Guys knows how to throw a party that brings out the most well-built specimens of the hotrod and muscle car scene. Since its inception in 1983, Good Guys has become the largest hot rodding association globally, boasting a membership of over 70,000 active participants worldwide. The Goodguys events showcase a slick array of hot rods, customized trucks, muscle cars and classics and have proven to be some of American Racing favorite events of the year.
It's been several years since American Racing attended the Iowa-based Goodguys event – formally known as Goodguys 32nd Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals presented by BASF — so we knew we couldn’t miss out. Goodguys organizes more than 18 events each year, and Heartland Nationals is one of the organization’s biggest shows. This year, roughly 5,000 hot rods, classics, muscle cars, trucks and pre-1998 street machines congregated to the Iowa State Fairgrounds located in Des Moines, and the caliber of content was truly impressive.
From the mild to the wild, Heartland Nationals showcases some of the best builds from around the Midwest. American Racing was honored to return to the event and enjoyed seeing familiar faces and making a ton of new friends. It’s nearly impossible to pick our favorite rides of the weekend, so we summed up the spectacle with proper recap video. We’ll see you all next year.
