For Hoonicorn vs. the World 2, the Hoonicorn will be fitted with American Racing Wheels.

American Racing has been at the forefront of race wheel research and development for decades. With learnings gained through a multitude of racing disciplines including drag racing, oval racing, off-roading, and beyond, we have fine-tuned the original VF503 into a formidable performance drag racing wheel for the Hoonigan Hoonicorn.

Not only will the Hoonicorn be sporting a fresh look with updated livery, custom roll rage, and paddle shifters, but the addition of the revised VF503 is sure to provide the proper function and form for the upcoming season. – Facts regarding new Hoonicorn information cannot be released until end of November

The Hoonicorn’s VF503 will retain the two-piece forged 6061 Aluminum center and barrel manufactured on a high-speed CNC machine – allowing the wheel to be as strong and light as possible. This NASCAR inspired design features a concave profile for maximum caliper clearance and boasts a soft lip barrel. The Hoonicorn will be outfitted with a 18X10.5” squared setup to ensure an adequate contact patch for the twin-turbo fury of power.

Not only is a large contact patch needed to put power to the ground, but the American Racing VF503 wheels received further treatment to ensure its escapades go unhindered. Our patented anti-rotation tire bead seat finish process, developed within our motorsports division, is applied to diminish tire-to-wheel rotation common on high horsepower, high traction applications. coined as TBD.

To achieve the highest co-efficient of friction between the tire and wheel, an engineered shot peen operation is applied to the wheel’s rotational bead seat area. This meticulous surface finish creates the strong adhesion necessary to prevent catastrophic tire failures due to imbalance and or de-beading due to reactive forces applied to the tire in acceleration and cornering. For consistency, every wheel is tested utilizing the latest in profilometer testing parameters to achieve optimum performance.

This technology is already performance proven. The 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans GTE class winner utilized this process on its Rotiform wheels – highlighting the technology and its championship winning capabilities. This level of precision is what American Racing prides itself on and we are proud to provide such a high caliber performance wheel for the mischievous Hoonicorn.

This new wheel tech is coming from a team of engineers that builds and develops race wheels for:
