The Desert Assassins are based out of San Clemente, CA and are driven by winning races while dominating the marketing of off-road racing in a fun and energetic way. The team has been together for two years and in that time they have not only won races, but the hearts of the fans by doing it "their way", embracing people along the way.
"We set a goal to be both an elite team and a team of the people" said team driver Cameron Steele. The team is made up of driving partners Steele and Clyde Stout as well as long time engineers and fabricators Tim Carroll, Danny Gormican, builder/driver Justin Smith, and builder/driver Jake Batulis.

Longtime off-road enthusiast and expert Ford tech Chris Vano is also one of the team's key navigators and also the manager of Board Ford Motorsports who sponsors the team. Chris is also one of the catalysts in building the team along with fellow tech Greg Distefano, BR Kellogg, J-Gunn, Cody Stuart, and Azam Flores. The team also boasts a second SCORE Trophy Truck and team member in Arizona's "Pistol" Pete Sohren. Cameron's wife Heidi also races and earned her first class win in June, 2005 at the Baja 500.
